For Koos de Haas, owner of De Haas Industrial Supply B.V. in Leiden, the choice was clear: to celebrate his company's 10th anniversary, he wanted to give his customers something that reflects quality and will actually be used.

Koos has been a customer of Hoogenboom/Ravelli Promotional Products for more than 25 years. The relationship began when he worked at Laman Technische Groothandel. Today, through his own company, De Haas Industrial Supply, he continues to order his personalised promotional products from Hoogenboom/Ravelli Promotional Products with complete satisfaction.

Looking for a sturdy storm umbrella

For the 10th anniversary of De Haas Industrial Supply, Koos wanted a durable, high-quality corporate gift. An umbrella was an obvious choice, but it had to be noticeably different from a standard promotional umbrella.

The requirements were clear: high quality, robust construction, durability and a professional appearance. An umbrella that customers would enjoy using and that would also suit the professional image of De Haas Industrial Supply.

Based on these requirements, we presented Koos with a selection of five different storm umbrellas from various brands. After comparing their quality, appearance and features, the final choice was the GP-75 Falcone storm umbrella.

The selected storm umbrella meets all of the requirements. The umbrella is windproof and features a black fibreglass shaft and an extra-strong double fibreglass frame. The black rubber-coated handle provides a secure and comfortable grip.

The umbrella comes with a sleeve and has a diameter of 130 centimetres. This provides enough room for two people to walk comfortably underneath it.

To give Koos several options, we created and sent him three different concepts for a 10-year anniversary logo, free of charge and without obligation. This allowed him to consider which design best suited the identity of De Haas Industrial Supply.

Once he had made his choice, we created a digital visual showing the complete design on the umbrella.

See the design before production begins

A clear digital proof is an important part of our production process. The visual gives the customer a realistic impression of how the final print will appear on the product. This allows us to check not only the design itself, but also its proportions, positioning and colour combination.

For Koos, this was a valuable opportunity to review the final design. He could check whether the colours of the print worked well with the navy blue umbrella and whether the complete design had the professional appearance he was looking for.

At Hoogenboom/Ravelli, we only start printing the umbrellas after the customer has approved the visual and digital proof. This helps ensure that the finished product matches what the customer has in mind. Changes to the proof can therefore still be made until final approval is given.
